Several Mega Pokemon, including Mega Rayquaza, Mega Gengar, and Mega Alakazam, have already been introduced in Pokemon GO. Pokemon GO has officially announced the introduction of Mega Lucario during the upcoming Ultra Unlock Raid Day event scheduled for July 21, running from 11 am to 5 pm local time. This event marks the highly anticipated arrival of Mega Lucario in the game. Trainers can expect to encounter Mega Lucario more frequently in raids, providing them with the opportunity to capture a shiny version. Lucario encountered in raids will be equipped with the Fast Attack Force Palm, a move that boasts 13 power in trainer battles and 9 power in Gyms and raids.

The Mega Lucario Raid Day event in the Ultra Unlock will enhance the likelihood of Pokemon GO trainers obtaining Rare Candy XL in raid battles and increase the XP earned by 1.5x. Additionally, Pokemon GO players who spin PokeStops will be eligible to receive up to five extra Raid Passes at no cost. To mark the introduction of Mega Lucario, Pokemon GO will raise the Remote Raid limit to 20 from July 26 at 5 pm to July 27 at 8 pm PDT. Throughout the event, a new Lucario-themed cosmetic will be accessible on the Pokemon Web Store. A new ticket will be purchasable for $5.00 USD, offering Pokemon GO players benefits such as extra Raid Passes, a chance to obtain Rare Candy XL, and increased XP and Stardust earnings in raids.
